Bekk couldn't blame Raasha for repaying his earlier laughter at her expense with the same now that the situation flipped, yet he still joined in with a sarcastic edge. "Ha..Ha..Ha.." He repeated slowly, with arms folded and foot tapping against damp soil. The laughter stopped once Raasha pointed up to the obviously snow capped mountains, but an annoyance furrowed brow continued to show he wasn't amused.
"Thanks for the tip." Bekk fired back, in a tone that couldn't decide on sarcastic or irritated. However, Raasha beginning to disrobe quickly changed his attitude. With each garment set aside the more he wondered how he hadn't saw this as a possible conclusion either. The zabrak also wondered how a sweaty togruta smelled up close right about now. Even without going to the genitals in the wind level of naked he had, Bekk still put on an amused grin at Raasha in her tribal lingerie.
The phrase "a real gem" seemed to be the mental caption for this alluring vision in front of him.
The zabrak actually winced as she took the plunge in one go like she'd said to, going so far as to submerge up to her montrals. Logic dictator that if she could do it so could he, not that he was looking forward to this even a little bit. Bekk took several long strides away from the stream, then turned with a sly smirk before speaking.
"Like this?"
After uttering the words the zabrak sprinted forward before jumping at the edge, and tucked his limbs quickly before impact with the frigid water. The resulting splash sent waves rushing away from the epicenter, across the surface and even into the air. Under the surface Bekk again mused why natural water sources didn't have thermal heating or something, yet rose to breech the water again with a gasp to inhale.
"You were right, all at once was better. I'm already starting to warm up, feeling will hopefully return to below the waist before I'll need it again." Bekk stated, sporting a shaky smile and a bit of chattering teeth

The term 'cannonball' really didn't exist in Togruti. However, the concept did. Raasha didn't evade it however, the splash soaked her. Or would have soaked her, if she'd been dry and not already in the water. Instead she wiped water out of her eyes and giggled. It wasn't a voluntary giggle either, it was the kind of little laugh that you couldn't help. Much like the words 'be careful' erupt after someone trips. She grinned at him when he emerged from the water, teeth chattering. He was new to the whole cold water thing, and it had been a while for her too.
But, she knew how damned amazing it felt to climb out onto sunny banks, and warm herself. To put on dry clothes...
She lazily backfloated in the water.
"You'll feel better," She said. "No matter how hot out, this cool you down."
It was true wisdom, go for a swim in the cold water, and the rest of the day felt pleasant, even if it felt horrible otherwise. It was the kind of natural air conditioning she was used to. Well that and hiding in a cave during heat waves, preferably with something to drink. There were all kinds of ways you could cope with this sort of thing. Summer was fun. Winter... Winter could be harsh up here.
Raasha kicked her way leisurely over to the waterfall, and positioned herself under it, letting it pour over her as well as any shower. Not that she did well in terms of vertical clearance in showers. She splashed at underarms and went through the motions of bathing herself, and slowly stopped glancing over at Bekk in search of his alien anatomy once more.

Bekk had to chuckle a bit at his friend's words of wisdom about the steam. Staying cool was not the issue, quite the opposite in fact. Still, his body was quickly getting used to the transition from one medium to the, and his overall temperature was steadily rising. Although, watching Raasha float around and the like was enough to push him well into comfortable range.
Following suit with his friend, the zabrak allowed him to float in the current as well. With his ears below the surface the roar of the waterfall came through as beautiful as the hum of any engine. Bekk first noticed Raasha movements from hearing the displacement, but only with the interuption of the waterfall's did he know exactly where she went.
Out of curiosity the zabrak leaned up to see what he could see, and was instantly glad he did. Clothed or no, Raasha under a waterfall was downright sexy. Feeling a bit bolder than usual, Bekk floated backwards over to her before flipping over to stand upright.
"Hope you don't mind sharing the outfall." He mentioned, just loud enough to hopefully be heard over the falling water. Without waiting for an answer Bekk's hand glided over his yellow and tan flesh, paying closest attention to his armpits and ass. For a moment his hand went to idly see about cleaning his tackle, yet good sense kicked in within a few inches of hitting home and he left it alone for now.
"So...hope you don't mind me asking, but of all the guys your granny and mother matched for you,,how many would you say you've actually liked?"

Bekk came on over as well, and asked if she minded. Well, not precisely asked, but she'd learned in this kind of circumstance what it meant. She moved aside, making room under the water for him too. Of course she couldn't help but notice that his hands ran over a very supple... She looked up at the treeline and coughed lightly. Two could play at that game. She lightly rubbed down her belly, stopping slightly under the bikini bottom. Of course she was still a little blindsided by his question. She heard it perfectly fine, but her first reaction...
It wasn't about the total lack of acceptance for the idea he'd had earlier when they talked. Nor was it even about any interest he had now. To tell the truth she'd never actually registered that he was acting interested, or that she was acting interested. Instead what popped into her mind was a simple reflexive sort of denial that there'd ever been individuals.
Mother didn't suggest. She found fault with any candidate. Grandmother, likewise, didn't suggest individuals. She just pushed anyone who wasn't related forward and hoped for the best. In fact she could still remember the first time Grandmother privately asked her if she needed a woman instead. When your grandmother assumed you were a lesbian, well that wasn't a good sense.
"I, uh, well." She tried to describe the situation, but paused before getting anywhere. That wasn't a great sort of answer. No, she had to sound like she knew what she was talking about.
"A few," She said. "You know. Some."
She coughed again, and quickly turned the question around.
"You, you have anyone you like?"

As odd as it might have seemed, the fact that Bekk had a crown of horns on top of his head nearly alluded him sometimes. Once all his cracks and crevices we free of sweat and dust he idly ran his right fingers over several ones while listening to Raasha. The only time he really ever paid attention to them was occasionally in a bathroom mirror, or more commonly whenever he accidentally bumped them against something.
The zabrak found a togruta's montrals and lekku way more visually appealing than stubby cranial horns, yet was happy to have the latter instead. He gathered that Raasha and her people had to take a lot more care than he did to not bang them against stuff all the time. Bekk had been studying the lines and patterns of his friend's montrals when her south bound hand stole his attention instead.
A quick aversion of the eyes probably saved the situation from getting infinitely more awkward from the natural course things were gonna go with his body.
"Hm? Oh..well" Bekk stuttered sheepishly, as his mind returned to the conversation. "I kinda do...but I don't know how it'll work out. The timing is bad. Um, other than that I'm happy to be single. Gives extra time to focus on my job, or the force now." The zabrak rambled out next, facing her but still not making eye contact with Raasha. After a light cough he started to head for the shore.
"I think I'm clean enough now."

Bekk's response sounded sheepish. Even to Raasha's poor Basic, the phrase 'kinda do' didn't inspire a lot of confidence. On the other hand, the follow up sounded more real. Timing being bad, difficulty in making things work. That had largely been Raasha's experience with the dating scene. If you could properly call it a dating scene, she'd had few prospects in the village. The best candidates had been Varit in the nearest neighboring tribe, and Koris the son of the tailor who had always seemed... More interested in what she was wearing than what was inside the clothes.
And then in Cover City timing had never been right. Oh she'd been asked, by a few people, but the timing had never worked with some trip she had looming. Things didn't work oh so well.
She did empathize.
He headed off, saying he was about clean enough, and Raasha gave him a head start. It, among other reasons, gave her a chance to slide further underwater and unobtrusively wash the parts under the swimwear. After giving him that headstart though, she swam back in a leisurely crawl stroke, and then waded out dripping onto a sunny bank. She sat on a stone outcropping and looked out at what was really one hell of a view. Around were mostly trees, but they sloped down rapidly with the landscape, and the result was a fantastic view of all the open space they'd covered, the dusty badlands far below.
"Uh, Bekk," She said, conversationally. "How much can you drink?"

Exiting the stream felt like an odd rebirth for Bekk, seeing as he went in filthy and emerged now clean, other than for muddy soles. The warm breeze that cascaded over his body only enhanced this feeling of all around oneness with the universe at the moment. Being clean was a pleasure the zabrak enjoyed to an almost obsessive degree; although the inevitability of being filthy didn't send him spiralling into despair. Grime, grease and engine oil made for interesting colognes in their own rights.
Bekk just had to look up into the evening sky and let out a sigh of silent gratitude to be in a position to enjoy it. Probably being without a droid for thousand miles or a simple fusion cutter would eventually wear heavily on his nerves if the days were to turn into months at the village, yet at least for today he felt happy to be in such a rustic locale.
The lack of towels and a desire to not have soggy underwear prompted Bekk to join his friend upon the rocks. Words can't express the sublime pleasure he felt as his own rocks came in contact with the sun warmed formation. In fact, it was so startling at first he jerked forwards before lowering himself back down to sitting. This was way better than sitting naked on rocks had any right to be.
"More than you?" The zabrak volleyed back, with a chuckle and a knowing smirk on his lips. Between the landscape ahead and his scantily clad friend it was hard to decide which beauty to watch, but he settled on Raasha and all that wet leather. "I guess my next question is why, and how drunk are you trying to get me?" Bekk added, maintaining the smirk and switching to staring at the horizon.
"So, you know I want to become a Jedi, but what is your goal in life? I assume you didn't want to be just the best friend to a manic mechanic."

Raasha snerked. The precise definition being sniggered and smirked. She was amused by the response he gave, especially since she'd been mostly anticipating the festivities. And among them was a great deal of drinking. Carefully fermented beverages, from fruits, and berries, and wild grains. Still others considerably less pleasant from the milk of domesticated animals. And that wasn't even counting the last caches of the winter's ice-distilled libations. If there was anything she could count on, it was a plethora of alcohol tonight. But maybe it was best to let him be surprised and dine on his own words. After all, she had real food to sop up the alcohol...
She smiled sweetly, and more importantly, knowingly.
However, before she could really think of doing more than shrugging noncommittally, the Zabrak managed to sidetrack her by talking about goals. In life. That prompted a great deal of confused blinking as Raasha tried to wrap herself around that concept. You didn't think of goals. Not like that. You thought about where to hunt next season maybe, or how many furs you needed to get for the village. Maybe you thought about getting a new set of tools for the fireplace, but you didn't think of goals like... Being friends with somebody. Or more strangely, JUST being friends with somebody.
"I don't understand," She said slowly, "What do you mean, 'goals'? These do not sound like goals."

For being the textbook example of a rough and tumble outdoorsman, or woman in her case, Raasha reminded him of a factory fresh droid sometimes. They both seemed unaccustomed to the finer points of conversation, at least in the realms of exaggeration, sarcasm and idioms. As tedious as this made conversation at times, it occasionally made things interesting when manadatoy explanations popped up.
"It was a joke. The whole being my friend thing as a goal was a joke." Bekk explained plainly, glancing at her a few moments between taking in the view. "I called you my best friend, by the way. Just in case you didn't notice that tidbit of what I said." Bekk said, sadly disappointed about The girl's lack of humor.
"Let me rephrase what I asked: what do you see yourself doing in several years? There must be something you have planned you'd like to see come to fruition. Goals can be whatever you set your mind on."
"Come on, what did you have in mind?"

Raasha really only realized now as Bekk explained just how much difficulty she had with senses of humor. Truth be told it hadn't seemed very funny. Or funny at all to her. It had seemed like an ordinary question about goals, but with goals that weren't goals, and did that mean it was funny if a thing wasn't a thing? It was stretching her thought process in an unusual direction. She fidgeted on the warm boulder.
"Thank you, for the friend comment," She added initially, hoping the friend part hadn't been a joke too.
She tried hard to think about the new question, what did she see herself doing in several years. The problem was... She'd never thought that far ahead. It was ahead of seasons. You never knew if a monsoon would come through or a landslide would require special work. She really just didn't plan that far ahead, but biting her lip didn't help her think up a way to express that. Beside, it seemed like he might be irritated by another confused response. So she immediately grasped upon one of her go-to idle thoughts.
"It would be nice, to build a house."

Raasha's answer was innocent on its own, but filled Bekk with an odd sort of sadness. It was mostly the possessions inside his home, as well as his speeder, that he'd been missing earlier that day, yet the building itself seemed to harbor at least a little attachment to it. Ironically, the zabrak could honestly say he hated his house for not having room for a workshop, the terrible water pressure, cracked tiles in the kitchen and lack of enough power sockets.
Still, the fact it was his outright, well technically the bank's, and was his first place away from home endeared it to him, despite all the reasons to despise it instead. The zabrak let out a slight under his breath while still sporting a cheerful smirk, formally saying goodbye to his former real estate.
"Building a house sounds nice." Bekk stated idly, shifting himself on the rocks a tad. "When the time comes, let me know and I'll help you out with the construction." He added in a sincere tone, contemplating his own housing plans in the process. As nice as having another house would be, living on a starship sounded like the right path for him. Having a mobile home just seemed like the best choice of his options, especially given the wanted nature of Jedi.
"Hey, I know your family would like me to get you back here safe and sound, but have you ever thought about living on another planet than Shili? I assume you've never left your home world? You might enjoy a change in scenery."

Raasha smiled a little at Bekk. Now while she wouldn't trust him to hunt, he definitely looked like a man who could build things. When, or if, the time came to build, she'd definitely call on him. Not in the least because you simply couldn't build a house on your own. It wouldn't work. Of course her needs weren't large. Simple wood construction would work. Unless she built somewhere else, drier. Then there was mud you could do. You could also build partly underground, that had always appealed to her. Probably from the cave she'd grown up in.
Of course Bekk had displayed a remarkably consistent ability to blindside her. He did it again by talking about other planets.
Raasha wasn't a child. She knew there were other planets, a great number. In fact most of the stars in the night sky had planets. However it was like knowing that fish breathed in water. She'd never felt tempted to question it or to do it herself, or to wonder what it was like. In the same way she'd never questioned what it was like on other planets. It probably was. They couldn't be that dissimilar.
"I never think about that," She said slowly, "I don't know anyone who left."
Aside from clients and passing acquaintances that was. She really didn't know anyone. In general really.
"Have you ever been?" She asked tentatively, hoping he had some expertise to defer to.

Bekk's origin had always been a sensitive subject to him while he was was younger, and definitely not one he liked to discuss. As if the empire would've despatched more crooked social workers to ground he and the other orphans back up. His adopted mother was really the only person he'd given the full story too. Even though he no longer harbored an irrational fear, Raasha wasn't about to get the full version either. It really was a boring story.
"Yes." Bekk said flatly, before pursing his lips to ponder how to begin properly. "I'm actually from Coruscant originally, or at least I claim it as my home planet. I'm an orphan, so I have no idea where I really could be from or where my parents went. Anyway, shortly after the clone wars ended me and the other nonhuman kids were rounded up and put on a ship, heading to who knows where."
The zabrak paused after that last solemn statement to clear his throat and try to recall what he could about the experience visually. "Long story short, we were saved and the person decided to take the ship to this planet. From there I leaved on the streets until the woman who would adopt me found me going through her trash bins. Also, I didn't realize it until you explained them to me, but our savior on the ship was a Jedi."
Bekk let the conversation drop after the end of his tale, to briefly squirm a bit and look at his toes. "So, yeah, I wouldn't have any trouble living somewhere else, but Shili would always feel like home. How things are going it actually might be the best option."
"First things first though, we'll have to get a ship in Corvala."

Raasha stumbled inadvertently into one of the emotional minefields. There were a few you could find, and most of the time they didn't pop up with warnings until you'd already gone too deep. So Raasha quickly wound up staring awkwardly down at her feet feeling horrible about herself. Or more accurately, feeling horrible that she'd had two parents who loved her, siblings, and a whole village of friends and family. Albeit mostly family. That somehow even made things worse. And meanwhile Bekk had lived on the streets, and- And she felt pretty awkward about the whole thing.
Her throat suddenly felt dry, and she swallowed.
"I am sorry Bekk," She said. She reached over and patted him lightly on the shoulder, and then decided she'd take 'first things first' as a call to action.
"So you know to fly ship then?" She queried. "How do we get it?"

Raasha was already attractive to Bekk on a physical and somewhat mental way, finding her rough edges and lack of humor oddly endearing; yet this additional kindness really increased his fondness of her. The willingness to help him escape Cover city could be seen as self serving to some, considering she was present when he made that scene with the lightsaber, yet trying to comfort him seemed completely selfless.
"Thanks." The zabrak replied, with a lopsided smile and a little color to his cheeks. "You're sweet." He followed up, reaching up to pat her outstretched hand upon his shoulder.
"As for the flying...I can handle it, but I've technically never flown before." Bekk explained while rocking slightly side to side, trying and failing to muster confidence in his voice. "See, I read a LOT of ship manuals and magazines in, so I believe I have to knowledge needed to fly well, just not the experience. I can do it though." The zabrak added, saying that last bit for his sake as much as it was for Raasha.
"I figured we could buy a really cheap ship or steal one, those are are only real options sadly."
