Humans: Builders of Tomorrow's Galaxy
The impact of humans on the galaxy we live in is the greatest of all species. Humans have been responsible for the greatest achievements of history, from founding the Old Republic's galactic expansion and colonization programs up to the Galactic Empire's unprecedented achievements. Through a remarkable adaptability humans became the most numerous and widely distributed species of all, settling in diverse climates from deserts to ice worlds.
Human Culture: Humans come from numerous cultural backgrounds associated with their worlds. Corellians have developed a unique culture over thousands of years, as have Chandrilans or Alderaanians. Each Human culture has unique traits, but generally speaking there are commonalities among all Humans.
Humans have a deep appreciation for societal order and civilized behavior, IAHA statistics show Humans commit 64% less violent and property crime than aliens. This strong value for civilized behavior has led to the rightful reputation as protectors of the public. The Human value of stability has also yielded another great factor.
Art flourishes amongst Humans. Museums of Art and History are common sights on Human worlds, and the impact of Humans like the Naboo on art and architecture has been invaluable to the galaxy. Other species simply lack the civilized values of Humanity, and IAHA researchers have determined that Humans collectively account for 87% of the Imperial Galactic Heritage Sites.
Family is another dearly held value of Humans, who form tight familial relationships and have distinct family units that remain intact over generations.
Human Physiology: Human physiology is remarkably adaptive. Humans self-regulate their body temperature rather than lesser species who take on the external temperatures. This homeostasis is the product of thousands of years of evolution that have led to the near-perfection of the human species.
Human resiliency is remarkably lessened though by interspecies breeding. IAHA researchers have determined that offspring between Humans and so-called Near-Human species are 30% less viable and the unfortunate offspring suffer impairments ranging from vision loss to impaired brain functions, and on the whole live 40% shorter lifespans than pure humans. Breeding between Humans and Non-Human species is merely 15% viable, and the offspring are rarely capable of normal lives. For this reason, Human blood must necessarily remain pure.
Humans in the Galaxy: Today Humans serve as the Guardians of Peace, preserving the Galaxy's prosperity through the ranks of the Imperial Forces. Through vigilance and self-discipline Humanity has come to extend the branch of peace to each race in the galaxy, a peace secured by the Human race's sacrifices and dedication.
