Midway between Vinsoth and Er'kit lies a system officially designated as 'XYTC-11539.' This incredibly uncreative name was gifted by the Republic Rim Survey conducted in 175 BBY, by a particularly bored crew who never landed on any of the planets. They simply surveyed the four planets in the system. Two rocky inner planets, a gas giant, and a ball of ice at the outer edge of the system. The inner planets were molten and devoid of life. However three moons of the gas giant were habitable. These were designated XYTC-11539-1-A/B/C. Moon A was a frozen desert with thin air and no liquid water. Moon B was a big ball of ice surrounding oceans. The last moon was habitable however, with life. Mostly plant life, ranging from mosses to tall deciduous forests. It tended towards being very cold, however volcanic activity kept it reasonably tolerable.
Due to speculation the inner planets were suitable candidates for mining, the Mining Guild named the system "Feralta," and the moon was christened Feralta IIIC. A small outpost was set up there for preliminary exploration. The process of development wa canceled though, when sampling revealed the ore was poor quality and inadequate for industrial use. In short, it was useless. Feralta vanished into the dustbin of history, and the only legacy was a couple abandoned prefab buildings, a sealed mine shaft, and a wide variety of introduced animal life intended as food.
Feralta was forgotten for a number of decades, until the Jedi Knight Silar Grosell emerged from hyperspace nearby with mechanical trouble, and crash-landed on the surface. It was near a hot spring, and as a result the new hermit set about making a permanent dwelling-place.
