Name: Kaan De'tat Vargo
Species: Human
Faction: Imperial Intelligence
Rank: None officially
Age: 40
Height: 6'1
Weight: 278
Image:
Appearance: Cold eyes, pale face, and a smile that seems colder than the eyes above it; Kaan could almost pass for a Vampire or Anzati. A lifetime of tragedy and harsh choices have carved their way into his face, leaving behind no warmth. A steel blue fills the center of his eyes, a trait passed on from father to son. His eyebrows perfectly line the flat and tall forehead, giving way to a shoulder length unkempt and prematurely grey hair. Just as grey is the hair on his chin and cheeks, left just as unkempt as his hair, although he never lets it be any more than stubble. Pursed lips curl downward, making a permanent scowl indent, only rarely graced with a smile. Kaan's most prominent trait aside from his eyes is his jaw. Strong and jutting, it is a small sign of the true strength he possesses, at least for fellow Humans who know to look. His height is domineering, and intimidating with the plain black clothing he wears (white for ceremonial purposes). Although he does not have the large physique of the truly giant Humans, his lean and towering body hides a strength that was honed by years of being a fighter. As graceful as he is quick, Kaan moves with the naturalness of a predator.
Personality: Kaan is exactly as he seems, cruel, ruthless, and intelligent. These traits are what make him such an impressive Imperial Intelligence Agent, and a dangerous foe for anyone who crosses his path. As a boy, he was subjected to the cruelty of the underworld on Coruscant, where only the dangerous survived. He picked up on the idea of every man for himself as a boy, and let it be his guiding principle. Joining a new gang every year, by the age of 16 he was already well known for being a knife fighter and skilled hit organizer. He became a hunter for those who could pay, originally having to do it just to earn his way. With no parents, and no family, all he knew was hate. Not even the "bond" of his gang "family" was enough to break the ice that had, from birth, started to worm it's way around his heart. Given thus, when he finally became a man, he was well on his way to becoming a true Villain.
At the onset of the Clone Wars, Kaan had become a small-time Kingpin, in charge of hits and the running of ANY substance, credits, hardware, or even beings through the streets of what was called "The Red Way". This authority was well placed, and Kaan had not only learned but effectively demonstrated what it meant to wield fear. He is not foolish enough to believe that fear alone can rule a street or a section, even planets. He gave it in measures needed, killing traitors but forgiving thieves (minues a finger or two). His operation was so impressive, Aruk the Hutt offered him a place with him (after several Kingpins and Hutts, along with agents from the Exchange had already offered him one as well).
He played no role in the Clone Wars, preferring to stay out of the way of such a large and chaos-filled conflict. Instead, Aruk used him to shake down and overrun long established Criminal dens. Kaan perfected his way of what the Empire calls "Destabilization" during this time, also giving him a confidence and pride that would soon give him a place in the most powerful Government in the Galaxy.
